Evan and Sadee

Cousins...

It is so much fun to watch Evan (10 months) and Sadee (19 months) interact with one another.
She calls him 'my baby' and pets his head.
He outweighs here by more than a handful so it is cute to watch her be the 'big' cousin.
We went to a brunch buffet this past weekend to celebrate Grandma Janet's birthday.
Evan and Sadee chatted, ate, and sucked on spoons happily the whole time.

We are welcoming another cousin this May!
Nichole is having a baby boy!

Bumps and Bruises

As I have mentioned before, this whole growing up and walking business comes with its fair share of bumps, bruises, and now even a little blood...Evan and I are growing thicker skin because of it, but there is a little part of me that can't wait until he gets a bit more stable on his feet...
Gotta love him for smiling through it :)

Bed Head

Wouldn't you love to wake up to this every morning?
I sure do!

Happy New Year!

So, it is 2009!?!
It seems like the last two weeks are all a blur!

We attended 5 Christmas celebrations this year...
making sure to have all the family covered.

Evan was surely my greatest gift this holiday season!

I think he is going to be the kid in school that eats glue! He was more interested in digesting bows and wrapping paper then in the presents themselves.

Our living room has been taken over by dump trucks, little people, mega blocks and more!

This has given us extra incentive to update our basement with some new kid/mom friendly carpeting
and a dad friendly flat screen TV.
Soon so many toys can make their way downstairs.

Evan has begun to cruise along the furniture now, getting more and more brave every day. There are many spills and tumbles in his new adventures, but I've learned to kiss the boo-boos, distract him from the tears and
close my eyes to the new bruises that form.
All a part of growing up and learning for both of us.

I hope that this New Year bring all the wonderful things you wish for!

A chance to start fresh, to count our blessings for great friends,
a roof over our heads...
and in my case a "mini me" that makes me smile every day!
