Jack Richard Engel weighed in at 8lbs, 5ozs, and is 22 inches long.
His unofficial arrival date was set for May 28th, but obviously he was ready to meet the world before that!
I received a call from Nichole early on Saturday morning, she told me that she had been having consistent contractions through the night. We decided I would come to her house and help her prepare for her hospital stay. We thought we had two more weeks to prepare, so there were still bags to be packed, toenails to paint, laundry to be done and everything else you think of last minute all while timing contractions.
After a few hours her labor seemed to subside a little and she was tired so I left them to nap, and the waiting game began. They did end up going to the hospital Saturday night, only to be checked out and sent back home early Sunday morning until she was a little further along...
Skip to Sunday at 8:45 pm - picture Nichole bravely getting through each contraction that she could, afraid to go back to the hospital and being sent home again, until finally she turns to Ryan and says "We have to go NOW". They reach the hospital at 9 o'clock, and thankfully so because Jack wasn't going to wait much longer!
Everyone is doing GREAT!
